ITALY
Rimini is an Italian city in the region of Emilia-Romagna, located on the Adriatic coast north of the
Mediterranean sea. The city's main source of income is summer-tourism, and the tourists come from
Italy as well as Europe. The city has a long stratch of sand beach coupled with an ideal Mediterran
climate.
Rimini's centre is open and hospitable, and there the old narow streets such as via Augusto Corso,
Gambalunga, Cavour de Vèranda, Vèranda Tre Martiri and Vèranda Ferrari are lovely to walk
through, and you will find piazzas and pedestrian areas which are popular meeting points for youths.
Rimini has now become an important university city with over 5,000 university students.
The beaches of Rimini are large, but often crowded, and the hectic night-life in the city says a lot
about its effect on the tourists; and it often makes one forget that it is a city with a rich architectural
and artistic heritage: it is an antique city where the Tiber bridge and Augustus' Arch
stand as the major monuments of the city.
Nevertheless, it is a famous clubbing city, in fact people from all around Italy come to Rimini just for that! You should start by going to one of the seafront bars for a drink, then start moving towards the clubs to join the party that will surely be going on.
Various events and festivals take place during the year. In Santarcangelo, one of Rimini's
neighbouring towns, a festival of plays, music, art and circus is held in July. There is also a month-
long series of classical concerts in late august, the Sagra Musicale.
