Summer in Brindisi

In Italy during the summer you will see all the main cities empty from Italians, only the tourists will walk in the heated streets trying to enjoy their summer vacations. What do Italians? They are all heading to the South, seriously, they might go overseas during the winter , but Summer is nowhere the same as in South Italy, they truly believe it and most of them having a summer house in one of the resort cities.

And one of those places in region Pugilia. Puglia welcomes its visitors with the shine of its sun, the warmth of the sea, the perfume of its nature and the treasures of history through the art of its cities. Brindisi is off the coast of Adriatic Sea. The city is a major port for trade with Greece and the Middle East. Brindisi has an active industry in agriculture, chemical and energy production. The splendid caves of Castellana and the Trulli of Alberobello will amaze you.

Brindisi is also famous for great food, cheese, mostly from sheep, due to the significant ranching of sheep and goats. During Summer period they produce ricotta, which can be eaten fresh or matured for a few months so that it has a stronger flavour, also strong ricotta, it's more like cottage cheese and Pecorino, which are more famous for winter period. And some speciality is an Almond milk, made by infusing water with the finely chopped almonds and then squeezing the same to bring out all the juice. It has become an traditional of Italy.
