This hilly region in the Central Italy is a mecca for a sunbather. A great place to travel if you wanna taste some awesome dishes of fish, or enjoy outdoor opera in beautiful scenes. One of the best ways to see the real Marche is to drive a car through the region, just having great breaks in small villages with no huge crowds. Ancona, the capital, is an important gate to the Adriatic Sea. Ascoli Piceno that's older than Rome, is absolutely worth a visit because of its stunning gothic buildings, great shopping possibilities, and squares. The Sibillini National Park is preserving many rare species and wonderful nature, and several medieval buildings are unforgettable. One example of well-preserved medieval towns in Italy is Sarnano. There are many events and festas in this region from spring to Christmas. There's also a really tasty lasagna dish called Vincisgrassi and salami called Ciauscolo - boths' origin is in the Marche.
