This region of Italy is surrounded on three sides by the Alps. At its borders, there are France and Switzerland, and the River Po acrosses the region. The Palazzina di caccia di Stupinigi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site including 137 rooms and 17 galleries. The park next to the palace is preserving rare plants and rich wildlife. Sacro Monte (sacred mountain) is an impressive collection of 45 chapels. In Piedmonte, you have a privilege to experience such tastes as white truffel and the king of Italian reds (wine) called Barolo. You can find a lot of good skiing resorts in the Piedmonte region, for example Sauze D'Oulx, Limone Piemonte, and Sestriere. Also mountains, such as Monte Rosa, are being found here.
